    • Italian-taught programmes ask for proof of Italian; English-taught programmes for proof of English. Each university sets the level and certificates it accepts.

Questions

Do I need a Declaration of Value?

Only if your university asks for it. Many universities accept a CIMEA Statement of Comparability instead — and if you have the CIMEA statement the university requested, the Declaration of Value is not needed.

How much money do I need for the visa?

At least €10,179.85 a year for 2026/27 and 2027/28, plus the money for your return trip. Recipients of Italian government scholarships are exempt.

Is this list complete for my programme?

No list can be. Medicine, dentistry, architecture and other limited-access programmes have entrance tests. Always compare with your university's own requirements.
