    • Undergraduate courses: through UCAS, with up to five choices. Postgraduate courses: usually directly on the university's website.

    • For 2027 entry: 13 January 2027, 18:00 UK time, for most undergraduate courses. Oxford, Cambridge and most medicine, dentistry and veterinary courses closed on 15 October 2026. Postgraduate deadlines are set by each university.

    • For degree-level study the visa needs English at CEFR B2. Your university may assess it itself or ask for a Secure English Language Test (SELT). Nationals of majority English-speaking countries such as the USA, Canada or Australia are exempt.

  2. Application documents

    • You enter your qualifications in the application; for UCAS your referee usually adds predicted grades. Universities may ask for certificates and transcripts later.

    • A UCAS application can only be paid and sent once your reference is in. Ask your teacher or adviser early.

    • If your university asks for one: a SELT or another test it accepts, at the level it sets.
